Container types

  • Standard height

    Standard height shipping containers are 8’6’’ tall common size containers. Fact most 20’ containers are standard height 8’6’’ tall.

  • High Cube

    High cube shipping containers are similar in structure to Standard shipping containers, but taller by about 1 foot. These 9’6’’ containers come in sizes 20’ 40′ and 45’ they are used in cases where a slightly taller capacity is required.

  • Double Door

    With doors on both ends of the shipping container, this container type is also known as a “tunnel container”. Double door containers are extremely helpful for quickly loading and unloading goods, and they make an even wider room for goods such as steel and iron. Both sets of doors have the same locking assembling and weather tight seals to keep cargo protected from the elements.

  • Open Side

    Open side containers are very similar to regular, general purpose shipping containers, the only difference being that the doors can open completely on the side too. This feature provides much wider room and access, which makes loading and unloading materials easy. Open side shipping containers generally come in 20′ and 40′, and they provide adequate room for extra large items that can’t fit through the regular doors.

  • Flat Rack

    This simple storage container has collapsible sides that can be folded to make a flat rack. The end walls are stable enough to allow cargo securing, so they are ideal for shipping goods that are oversized, such as heavy machinery, vehicles on tracks, big reels and construction materials. Some 40′ flat rack shipping containers are suitable to carry as much as 45 metric tons of cargo!

  • Refrigerated containers

    Reefer shipping containers are used for the shipment of temperature sensitive, perishable cargo such as meats, fruits and vegetables. This container type relies on external power to keep the temperature regulated. Reefers generally come in 20’ and 40, and are commonly made from a weathering steel known as ‘Cor-ten’ steel.

  • non operational Insulated reefer containers

    These are out of service reefer units that still have a purpose they are nice because of its insulation making them more cost effective then having to insulate a regular container. They come in 20’ and 40’

  • Modified containers

    Possibilities are near endless for customizations! Most popular are man doors, windows and vents

Grades / Ratings

  • New (One-Trip)

    New (one-trip) containers are near perfect but you may notice minor scuffs, container handler marks, superficial dents or forklift tire tracks on the flooring.

  • Cargo Worthy

    Cargo Worthy containers can be graded primarily on their structural integrity for carrying a load of goods for transport. All the cargo worthy containers we sell can be certified by a licensed surveyor and used to continue transporting cargo. Inspection criteria is based on the condition of the doors, floor, walls, ceiling and the overall structural integrity. You can expect a ~10% price premium vs a “WWT” container.

  • Wind & Water Tight

    Wind and Water Tight” containers have been retired from moving cargo on the high seas. All used containers are sold based on their structural integrity, not cosmetics and they will have many cosmetic imperfections.

  • Damaged

    Damaged (As-Is) units have major damage. These containers have missing sections of steel, advanced rust causing structural integrity problems, missing doors, rotten floors or other serious problems. They are typically sold for recycling the steel or specific projects.
